On a similar note, yesterday, (Oct. 4) a correspondent reporting to CBC Radio program “Dispatches” assured the host that the reason for all the violence between Hamas and Fatah was that Israel’s occupation has rendered Palestinian society dysfunctional — Fatah, because it was powerless, became corrupt, and more of the same.

I guess we can be thankful that the correspondent didn’t also attribute the flight of Palestinian Christians from Gaza in particular, or the imposition of Sharia-related “morality” on people to the dread occupation too.

Do you really think the flight of Christians has nothing to do with the occupation?

    • Brian Goldfarb Says:

It has an awful lot more to do with the Islamist/Jihadi aspects of Hamas rule, David. What would you ascribe it to?

    • Lynne T Says:

      David:

Some of the Christians and gay Muslim Palestinians have left the PA administered territories to go live in Israel. Further, a Pew poll conducted a couple of years ago of Israel’s Arab citizens found that over 60% preferred to retain Israeli citizenship rather than live under PA rule.
