Doesn’t seem to be anything on the Israel/Apartheid analogy. Could CST have come to the conclusion that this particular “discourse” is now indefensible?

    • Thomas Venner Says:

The CST’s job is to monitor anti-Semitic activity in the UK and that alone. They are required by their own charter to maintain an essentially neutral stance on matters concerning Israel in order to be able to represent the interests of British Jews without suffering any credible accusations of being part of some “Zionist lobby”, and so can only comment on anti-Israel activities, however extreme, if they cross the line into anti-Semitism.

As the Israel/Apartheid analogy, however inaccurate or reprehensible they consider it to be (and however much the hatred of Israel behind it may be driven by possible underlying anti-Semitic views), is not in itself intrinsically anti-Semitic in the way that, for example, comparisons between Israel and Nazi Germany or the “organ harvesting” accusations would be, the CST’s charter does not allow it to get involved in this.

      • Brian Goldfarb Says:

And david knows all this very well, but prefers to offer yet another faux naive view in order to attempt to undermine either the CST or the opposition to the Israel/apartheid analogy, or both.
