“I will not say the spirit of the times, but the spirit of a significant sector of contemporary opinion….”
“It doesn’t matter if criticism of and attitudes to Israel are anti-Semitic, so long as they are also anti-Zionist.”
Who thinks this? Ghada Karmi, Martin Jacques, Seumas Milne, and the editors of the Guardian comment pages.

On a light note, I am so envious of Norm, with his ability to express so pithily and accurately what I want to say. Still on a light note, everyone who clicked on to “as the man said, it probably doesn’t matter anymore”, and stayed to listen through the Buddy Holly disc, singing along, is in serious danger of showing their age!
Hi Norm! We were both around in the 50’s, clearly.
More seriously, is there any more to say, except to demand that Norm lives forever and keeps blogging?

If people believe that “it doesn’t matter if criticism of and attitudes to Israel are anti-Semitic, so long as they are also anti-Zionist,” then shouldn’t complain when they are called antisemites.

‘Who thinks this? Ghada Karmi, Martin Jacques, Seumas Milne, and the editors of the Guardian comment pages.’
This would explain why the editors of the Guardian (and so many other anti-Zionists) don’t take accusations of antisemitism seriously.
